Russia is ready to invest in Afghanistan’s underground resources

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah has met with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on the sidelines of a meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization leaders.
At the meeting, Mr. Medvedev said his country was ready to invest in Afghanistan’s underground resources. And Moscow is still ready to complete past projects.
The prime minister also said bilateral trade between the two countries had declined and Russia was interested in expanding trade relations in Afghanistan.
At the same time, Dr. Abdullah has strongly emphasized that peace is a top priority for the Afghan people, and Afghanistan plays a vital role in stabilizing the region.
