According to reports, Gen. Scoot Miller, commander of the Afghanistan Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, met with some Taliban representatives in Qatar. Some sources say, “Mr Miller called on the Taliban to reduce the fighting in order to strengthen the peace process in Afghanistan because the continuation of the peace talks depends on the end of the war in the country, and the Taliban must realize that’s the main problem.”
In addition, sources said that in the round of talks, General Miller has emphasized continuing of support for the Afghan government and Afghan security forces and said that NATO will stand firmly in this regard. The Taliban also said they will rethink the decline in the war in Afghanistan. This is while the armed Taliban announced their spring operations under the name of “al-Fatah” last week.
