Sima Samar: Most of the released prisoners of Hezb-e-Islami party are Taliban
The head of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC), Sima Samar, said that most of the freed prisoners of the Islamic Party are Taliban militants. Which were freed in a political deal between the government and the Islamic party.
The head of the Afghan Human Rights Commission, at a meeting in Mazar-e-Sharif, yesterday criticized the government’s peace deal with the Islamic Party, saying that lack of proper oversight of the program has resulted in the release of Taliban prisoners in the name of members of the Islamic Party. Mrs. Samar also added that the release of Taliban, in the name of Hezb-e Islami members, has created serious security problems.
