Six Haqqani group members killed in Paktia province

Six members of the Haqqani Network were killed as a result of a special security operation in the pollen district of (Gurda Siri) District in Paktia province.
The operation was carried out yesterday in the village of Surykhil in the pollen district of the province, provincial governor spokesman Abdullah Hasart, Paktika provincial governor, said on Friday, (28 June) told the media. Seven members of the Haqqani Network have been wounded in the wake of the operation, he said.
The Paktia Governor’s spokesman also said security forces had arrested seven suspected al-Qaeda members.
Abdullah Hsarat rejected the Taliban’s claim, saying that the civilians and the country’s security forces have not been harmed in the conflict.
Paktia is one of the relatively insecure provinces in the southeastern part of the country, operating in a number of Taliban districts and Haqqani Network fighters.
