Stanekzay: Kandahar elections delay was due to Gen. Raziq mourning program

After the assassination of General Abdul Raziq Achekzay police commander of Kandahar who was killed yesterday, now Afghanistan National Directorate of Security (NDS) head has announced that the reason for delaying election process in Kandahar province was due to the mourning program of General Abdul Raziq. Mr. Stanekzay adds: “the reason for delaying election process in Kandahar is the mourning program for General Raziq. Currently, the commander of 205 Atal corps of the army and his fellow partners are working on the security plan for Kandahar elections and it would take place in the upcoming week.”
Meanwhile, Imam Nazar Behbod, the commander of 209 Atal Corps in Kandahar promise that all security and defense forces are working on the security plan of upcoming elections in Kandahar. General Imam Nazar Behbod also adds: “I have safely past away yesterday’s incident I am ok. Currently, we are working on the security plan for securing the election process. We are working on operational centers and also we have sent our reserve troops to secure the election process, I am announcing to Kandahar citizens that they should participate in the upcoming election process and we will protect all the areas.”
One day after the assassination of General Abdul Raziq head of Kandahar Police Afghanistan government announced that parliamentary elections will take place with the one-week delay in Kandahar, General Abdul Raziq was one of the key figures in interior ministry police officers and he was famous in the name of Talib killer commander in the southern Kandahar. He was also an anti-Taliban and anti-Pakistan face. General Raziq was assassinated yesterday while they finished a security meeting in Kandahar, by a terrorist. Taliban claimed responsibility for the assassination of Kandahar police chief.
