Taliban abducted 30 passengers from Samangan Province

Haji Sefatullah Samangani, a member of the Samangan Provincial Council, told media that the Taliban group abducted 30 passengers last night, including two government employees, from Khuram Sarbagh district of Samangan province.
Mr. Samangani said that the kidnappers were traveling to Khuram district when they were abducted from downtown Aibak. According to Mr. Samangani, the head of the appeals and police officer of the Khuram District Police Command is subject to kidnapping.
Abdul Munir Rahimi, a spokesman for the Samangan Police Command, also confirms the incident, saying that many of the kidnappers have been released and efforts to release the remaining people are underway.
