According to reports, most of the schools in Tala and Barfak district of Baghlan are currently run by the Taliban. An authoritative source who does not want to be named, in a conversation with the Pasbanan News Agency, confirms that only four of its schools are running by the government but in Tala and Barfak district of Baghlan 19 other schools are run by the Taliban.

According to this source, a large part of the Taliban’s income comes from the Tala and Barfak district from the education sector. The source also emphasizes that members of the Taliban have warned observing education department of Baghlan and these employees have been warned by the Taliban that no one can check their education system at these schools. It is also said that all the subjects which are taught at these schools are now by the Taliban’s desire, and the group has banned the teaching of English in schools which are under the Taliban rule.
