Taliban heavy casualties in Maidan Wardak province

In a news release issued by the Maidan Wardak Security Command, 25 Taliban fighters were killed as a result of a “wide-ranging” aerial and air strike in the (Sayed Abad) district of the province, among which the Taliban fighters “Pakistani nationals” are also included.
General Wais Samimi, police commander of Maidan Wardak province, told media that the operation began last night in several villages in (Sayed Abad) district and the Kabul-Kandahar highway route, where several important centers of the Taliban’s group have been destroyed by Afghan forces until now.
“In Sayed Abad district of Malik Kheil, 25 Taliban were killed and their vehicles destroyed, which has had a very good result,” Mr. Samimi added.
Mr. Samimi said that only one police soldier was injured in the operation and that civilians were not killed in the operation.
Officials say that in this operation, the villages of Malik Kheil, Haidarkhil, Patanak, Haft Asiab and six cows in Sayed Abad district of Maidan Wardak district have been cleared of the Taliban until now.
Sayed Abad district of Maidan Wardak province, one of the unsafe districts of Maidan Wardak, is due to the fact that the Kabul-Kandahar highway is considered.
