Taliban looking forward to the beginning of talks with the USA
Taliban envoys in Qatar say they are looking forward to the beginning of official talks with US government, to find a peaceful solution for Afghanistan violence. This news comes in front after the New York Times published a story that US president Donald Trump has ordered US department of state for making preparation to start direct talks with the Taliban group.
A Taliban high ranking envoy in Qatar political office has told to daily times of Pakistan in an interview: “we have heard some reports about US decision for starting direct peace talks. We are looking forward to the startup of this process officially, but up to now there are no further contacts with Americans.”
This Taliban official who was speaking in condition of anonymity also said: “for building confidence before the beginning of direct peace talks we will give US a list of our leaders that their names should be cleared from UN sanctions list.”
This news comes in a time that in 2013 Taliban political office was banned before the inauguration in Qatar. The reason for this failure was called raising the Taliban flag with the phrase of Islamic Emirates in this office.
