Taliban reports progress on key points in talks with U.S. representatives

The Taliban group has reported progress on key points in the talks with the U.S. representatives which lasted until early hours of Thursday morning.
Suhail Shaheen, a spokesman for Taliban’s political office said in a Twitter post that the talks lasted until 2:30 am on Thursday morning.
Shaheen further added that the Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad were also present in the meeting.
Furthermore, he said the two sides made progress on some key points but did not elaborate further.
He also added that the next round of talks will resume at 1 pm on Thursday.
This comes as the Taliban group had earlier said that the group is close to finalizing the final agreement with the U.S. regarding the peace process.
