Presidential elections officially began in Kabul and in the province. Citizens of the country have gone to the polls to vote for their favorite presidential candidate and decide their fate.

Elections have begun in 34 provinces with 5,000 polling stations open. The IEC has said that more than 9 million people around the country have registered to vote. The Interior Ministry has said that 72,000 security forces have been deployed to secure elections across the country.
