Zalmay Khalilzad, the US Special Representative for Afghanistan’s Peace in response to remarks which was made by President Ghani’s National Security Advisor, Hamdullah Moheb, now has stated in talks with the media: “My sole responsibility is to represent the US government and help to secure the peace process in Afghanistan. I continue to work with the Taliban to make all parties ready to accept peace and end the 40-year-old crisis in Afghanistan. I never have personal goals and I do not pursue any objective in which my interests lie.”
Hamdullah Moheb, the Afghan national security adviser in a conversation with the US media in Washington, said that the current peace talks between the United States and Taliban were aimed at ignoring the national unity government. Mr. Moheb also said Khalilzad is in the quest for the formation of an interim government in Afghanistan and wants to come to power, an issue that has led the US national security adviser to be sanctioned by the United States.
