Following reports of an occasion of Russian military adviser’s presence in Ghazni providing training support to the Taliban fighters in the province, officials at the Russian embassy in Kabul have denied these reports. “These claims are unfounded and serious investigations needed by the government of Afghanistan and it should be conducted as soon as possible.” the Russian embassy in Kabul said.
This is while Hassan Reza Yousefi, a member of the Ghazni Provincial Council, told media that Russian military advisers are providing training to Taliban in some areas of Ghazni, in particular, in the Ajristan district. The statements were made while Russia had already announced that Moscow was neutral in Afghanistan’s internal affairs and called for the end of the battle to be the earliest opportunity.
