The Ministry of National Defense (MoD) has written a news release announcing the retreat of a Taliban offensive against security forces in Ghazni. According to a National Defense Ministry newsletter: “Taliban militants last night attacked a joint checkpoint between the Afghan National Army and the National Police along the Kabul-Kandahar highway in the Shahbazi area of central Ghazni district, which faces heavy resistance from the second Kandak commandos. “During the clashes and operations carried out by air and ammunition in Esfand, Noghi, Shahab, Gharabagh and Manager, 17 Taliban were killed and 5 others were wounded,” it said. During the clashes, Taliban ammunition and ammunition were also seized by commando forces in Ghazni.
