While the Afghan government has repeatedly articulated for talks with the Taliban, but the Taliban spokesman has said that they do not recognize any government currently in Afghanistan. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid says: “the Taliban do not recognize any government in Kabul, because Afghanistan is occupied a country by the United States and Washington has created a puppet government in Afghanistan to achieve its goals. Instead of talking to the shadow government, we are ready to talk with groups that were in conflict with us in the past.”
Mr. Mujahid says if they reach to an agreement with the US they will launch an investigation on the civilian casualties, while he was asked Whether Taliban will apologize for the citizens of Afghanistan if they reach to a final agreement with the United States, he said: “We will never apologize at all to those who worked with the USA to concurred their occupation in Afghanistan and they have worked for the establishment and survival of the United States in the country, instead they should apologize us for committing national betrayal against people, their country and their religion. ”
As the spring comes, the Taliban continue to insist that they will declare a ceasefire if they reach a final deal with the United States. These statements are being made while the Afghan National Security Advisor, Hamdullah Mohab, told the UN Security Council that the Taliban would never be peaceful and that the group has already lost the opportunity to negotiate. In addition, Mr. Moheb has emphasized that Zalmay Khalilzad, the Special Envoy of the United States for Afghanistan’s Peace, is pursuing his personal goals and strives to become a new government in Afghanistan’s Viceroy.
