US President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet today with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, John Bolton, an adviser to the US Security Council, and the issue of withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan will be the focus of the discussion. Sources familiar with the matter have told CNN that the meeting will also include Defense Secretary Irk Spear and US Army Chief of Staff Joseph Dunford.

At the meeting, Donald Trump is said to be likely to decide to the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. It is also said that if the US President’s decision would be finalized, the number of US troops in the country will be reduced from 15,000 to 8000 or 9,000. Meanwhile, US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad is currently engaged in peace talks with Taliban officials in Qatar.
