UNAMA Concern over Increasing of Civilian Casualties in Afghanistan

Following reports of casualties in Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand province, the United Nations assistance mission for Afghanistan now expresses concern about the increase in civilian casualties in the country. “We are worried about the increase in civilian casualties caused by the attack by Afghan troops in the Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand, in which 9 people were killed including 2 women,” UNAMA wrote on its Twitter page. We appreciate the new President Ghani’s order to issue an order for investigating the incident and as he emphasizes that soon the Afghan government should support the victims’ families of the attack. ”
According to reports, during operation of Afghan security forces in various parts of the country civilian casualties has raised which has increased the concerns of national and international institution who are working in Afghanistan. Previously, the National Security Council advisor ordered the Ministry of Interior and National Defense to prevent civilian casualties in any way possible.
