US Secretary of Defense meet with Zalmai Khalilzad on Afghan Peace

DoD head meets with ambassador Zalmai Khalilzad, US Special Envoy for Afghanistan Peace. The meeting, which took place in Washington, Michael Shanahan, said that his meeting with Khalilzad was excellent in Afghanistan’s peace. He added that they work jointly to achieve peace in Afghanistan and implement the South Asia strategy of President Trump in the meantime.
After the meeting, Mr Khalilzad said: “Peace talks will continue until a political agreement is reached in Afghanistan, and there is no reason to stop these talks,” Khalilzad added. “Over a month, the talks have been stopped due to unknown reasons.” The two sides agreed on the fifth round of talks on the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan and the breakdown of Taliban relations with al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups.”
This is while the next issue is the beginning negotiations between the partners and the cease-fire in Afghanistan territory, otherwise, there will be no final agreement.
