Wounding of two men following a shootout by a new parliament member’s son

Two people including children were injured after being shot dead by a new member of the House of Representatives and a number of other gunmen in Kabul. The shootings took place on Saturday night (25th of July) in the Dewan Baigi area in the fifth security district of Kabul. Event witnesses say that those who were involved and shot dead were relatives of two members of the House of Representatives and they fought each other due to an unknown issue.
“The son of Haji Naim Wardak, a member of the House of Representatives, is being shot and my brother was injured in this incident,” said Saif Rahman Kamal, a resident of the Dewan Baigi and a witness of the shooting has said.” during this incident at least one 12-year-old child was injured in the incident “I got up behind the bread,” he said, “I walked a little earlier to the bread store, there were these guys, they fired in air and then hit one of them.”
But Interior Ministry spokesman Nusrat Rahimi said two detainees were detained in connection with the incident: “We arrested two people in connection with the incident and will be treated in accordance with the law.”
