According to unconfirmed reports, Yassin Zia, a former deputy of the National Security Council, was appointed as the First Deputy Minister of Defense. The reports indicate that Bismillah Vaziri, former commander of the Special Operations Corps, has been appointed as Afghan Army Chief of Staff and General Abdul Fahim Ramin is appointed as the head of Afghan Army Air Force.

So far, no official statement of the Defense Ministry has not been published related to these changes. Earlier, the National Security Council adviser to the country has emphasized that for securing Afghanistan there would be a wide range of changes would be implemented in Security and defense institutions and it is only for the objectives of providing security to the nation.
