A delegation from the Afghan government went to Qatar yesterday to begin direct talks with the Taliban on peace talks. Now Secretary of State Zalmay Khalilzad has told Reuters that the seventh round of peace talks has been more effective. Mr. Khalilzad has claimed: “The American Peace Talks have been dramatically improving on four major issues, ensuring the fight against terrorism, the withdrawal of foreign troops, the initiation of talks between peacekeepers and permanent cease-fire Are the things that Washington achieved during the Washington summit with the Taliban.”
