Neutralization of 38 minefields in Kandahar province

Security officials in Kandahar province say 38 landmines have been defused in the province.

Fawad Aman, the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, told the country’s media on Monday (September 14th) that ANA forces had defused 38 Taliban landmines planted along the 18th highway in the Pashtun Kot district of Kandahar province. 18 from the Sarband area to Shahid camp have been cleared of various types of mines.

Mr. Aman added that as a result of the movement of mines by the Taliban, most civilians are harmed. In order to harm the security forces of the country, the Taliban always sacrifices civilians to the country in order to harm the security forces.

The Ministry of State for Disaster Management says 120 people are still killed or maimed each month by landmines.

The Taliban have not yet commented.

This is not the first time that landmines planted by terrorist groups have been defused by the country’s security forces in the country’s provinces.
