The Salang Highway is blocked by traffic
Officials at the Salang Preserve report that the highway is blocked on large vehicles because of heavy snowfall along the route.
The Salang Department of Maintenance and Care has published a newsletter on Monday (29 March) that snowfall has started around 9 pm last night with gentle snowstorms in the north and calm snowfall in the south of Salang, and is forecast to be up to two nights. Continue the next day and the highway is blocked off by tonnage cars.
Meanwhile, the Salang Highway is the country’s largest commercial highway connecting nine Northern provinces with Kabul, and goods from Central Asia reach Kabul and other southern cities.
