The United Nations has recently warned that poverty in 20 countries, including Afghanistan, will increase, and the poor will become poorer and hungrier.
The United Nations today (Wednesday) issued a statement warning of an increase in extreme hunger in more than 20 countries, including Afghanistan, citing coronary heart disease, natural disasters, and political conflict as the cause of increasing poverty and hunger in more than one country.
Meanwhile, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Program (WFP) have issued a statement announcing an increase in severe hunger in more than 20 countries, including Afghanistan, stressing that hunger is likely in the coming months. Afghanistan is getting worse.

The United Nations has recently warned that poverty in 20 countries, including Afghanistan, will increase, and the poor will become poorer and hungrier.

“We may be increasing poverty in war-torn countries like Afghanistan, Yemen, South and North Sudan, Nigeria, and the cause of rising poverty in these countries is not just war,” said David Beazley, director of the World Food Program, who introduced the report in Rome. “It is domestic, but the outbreak of the coronavirus in these war-torn countries has increased poverty and increased hunger and unemployment.”
Although some of the countries most at risk of severe hunger are in Africa, according to the United Nations, severe hunger is spreading to several other countries, including Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, and Haiti.
Afghanistan is one of the countries in need of food in the coming year, said the United Nations; the outbreak of the Coronavirus, lack of employment opportunities for youth and adolescents, lack of security, proxy wars between the government and militant groups are among the main reasons, which has increased poverty and hunger in Afghanistan.
