A landmine blast in southwestern Pakistan has killed at least six Palestinian protesters and injured 13 others.

The bomber struck shortly afternoon in front of the police recruiting center in the northern city of Chaman, on the Afghan border, according to Jafar Khan, the district police chief.

According to him, Maulana Abdul Qadir Luni, the leader of a Pakistan extremist party accused of supporting the Taliban in Afghanistan, was also among the injured.

The Pakistan official also said the bomb had been planted in a motorcycle and exploded as protesters emerged from the procession and were moving towards their homes.

In recent years, the province of Balochistan has witnessed violence and movements by Baloch freedom fighters.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast, but insurgents affiliated with illegal groups and Tehreek-e-Taliban terrorist elements have in the past claimed responsibility for bombings and armed attacks in Quetta of Pakistan and other parts of Balochistan province.

Various Pakistan cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta, are witnessing widespread demonstrations today against the illegitimate Zionist regime’s attacks on Gaza and in support of the Palestinian people.
