At least 45 thousand forces including National Army, Police and National Directorate of Security forces will participate to protect election process in Afghanistan. United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has quoted this issue in a newsletter which was published yesterday. According to the UNAMA newsletter, due to an increase of security challenges in Afghanistan these forces would be appointed for providing security for the upcoming elections which will be in place in the upcoming 8 days.

The newsletter of UNAMA was released on Thursday 11th of October and it has stated: the Afghan security forces have got their full measures to secure those citizens who are going to vote for the parliamentary elections. “Tadamichi Yamamoto” the representative of UN secretary general has said: “Afghan security forces are responsible for providing security to upcoming elections and they will try their best to provide a secure situation for their citizens who are participating in this process.”

According to Afghan government security plan, Afghanistan interior ministry and Afghan independent election commission are responsible for providing security to the upcoming elections and the main objective is to defuse all security treats ahead of this process.
