A plane crashed in Ghazni province, one of the country’s central provinces, on Monday.
But initially, unconfirmed reports related to the Ariana Airlines, but the claims were rejected by the company president. The Interior Ministry told the media after its investigation that the aircraft (E-11A) was owned by the US military.
A US military spokesman, General (Sunni Legit), confirmed the news that the aircraft belonged to the military and had crashed in Ghazni province, but did not say how the plane crashed.
However, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said it was an intelligence and spy aircraft that could hear the sound, pinpoint locations and take a picture of an area that had been shot down by the Taliban.
Mr Mujahid also added that senior US military officials killed 83 others in the aircraft. The claim has been rejected by US military officials.
Dah-e-Ghazni district is one of the most insecure provinces in the country where the Taliban have more authority.
