Following the adoption of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy at the Supreme Council for the Rule of Law and the fight against corruption, The Government of Afghanistan created a special anti-corruption secretariat. This governmental branch holds its first meeting today with representatives from 63 ministries and government institutions. Based on the presidential palace newsletter, the institution is set up to implement the anti-corruption strategy, and it will be chaired by Yama Torabi.

The newsletter also added that all participating organizations agreed to share their countering corruption plans with the secretariat to implement the national anti-corruption strategy in their institutions.
