Kabul-Afghanistan (PMG):

The Taliban warned media and journalists a day ago that they would be embattled as military targets. The US ambassador to Kabul has now told the Taliban to stop treating journalists after this. Mr. Bass has written in a Twitter message: “Afghanistan’s vibrant media is a testament to the gains of the last 18 years. Journalism is not a crime, it is a valued public service to the world.”

The ambassador to the United States has continued: “We call on the Taliban to stop threatening Afghan journalists. More violence, against journalists or civilians, will not bring security and opportunity to Afghanistan, nor will it help the Taliban reach their political objectives. “John Bass calls on the Taliban to the targeting and threats of journalists are being overthrown by the group in a number of media outlets, and the continuation of this situation has added to the concern of media activists.
