Although Afghanistan is an importing and consuming country, four vehicles carrying equipment produced in the Herat Industrial Town were first sent to Somalia in Africa.

Hamidullah Khadem, head of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, told media that these export items include beds, operating tables and some other medical equipment worth $ 90,000.

He added that a car carrying the vehicles from the countries of Iran and Turkey has arrived in Somalia, and three other lorries will be on the same route to the next two days.

Now four drug and medical equipment companies are active in the Herat Industrial Town and in the near future, three other plants will begin to operate in this sector.

This is the first medical treatment sent from Herat and Afghanistan to African countries.

Herat in the western part of Afghanistan has become the economic pole of the country with its active industrial park.
