At the height of tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad, Pakistan has called for United Nations assistance. After dozens of Indian soldiers and militias were killed in two separate events in Kashmir under Indian rule, in a letter to the United Nations, the Pakistani Foreign Minister has asked the United States to help reduce the tensions with India.

Meanwhile, New Delhi has demanded clarification from Pakistan on charges of two deadly events in Kashmir.

The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan wrote to the UN Secretary-General that India was now struggling to tighten relations between the two countries due to long-standing insurgents. At least 44 civilian police soldiers were killed by an officer after the killing of at least 44 civilian police officers in the aftermath of the clashes with the four Indian military insurgents. It was said that the insurgents were also damaged in the clash.
