Massoud Andarabi, head of the interior ministry, and Asadullah Khaled, head of the interior ministry, left for Baghlan province today. The Ministry of Defense said the visit was to check the security situation in Baghlan province and the Kabul-North highways to Pul-e-Khumri.

Mr. Andrabi, the head of the interior ministry, said all the preparations had been made to carry out operations and improve the security situation.

Asadullah Khaled, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, said that the suburbs of Pul-e-Khumri and the entire province of Baghlan would be completely cleared of the Taliban.

However, a few days ago, the Taliban attacked the outskirts of Baghlan and made the security situation in the province worse.
