After Emran Khan’s statements led to an increase tensions between Kabul and Islamabad, the Afghan government yesterday decided to call the Afghan ambassador to Islamabad back to country. The foreign ministry has now announced that Atif Mashal was sent back to Islamabad to advance his mission. Foreign Ministry spokesman Sebghat Ahmadi said: “After the Pakistani foreign ministry clear their position and Prime Minister Imran Khan retreated from his remarks, a the discussion on how the two countries were in a relationship, the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan decided to send back the Afghan ambassador to Islamabad today.”

Imran Khan said three days ago in response to Pakistani journalists that the only option for the end of the Afghan crisis is to create an interim government, but the current government is creating barriers to the formation of this government. A case that aroused the anger of Afghan government, and the Foreign Ministry summoned the Pakistani Ambassador Deputy to for providing clarity on Khans statement to Afghan government.
