In the run-up to the sixth round of talks between Taliban and the United States and the second round of talks between the Taliban and some Afghan political figures, Taliban spokesman in Qatar Sahil Shaheen has announced that the withdrawal of US and NATO forces’ Will pave the way for the next round and issues of discussion. Mr Shahin said in a conversation with Pakistani media: “In the new round of talks, we are going to discuss the timetable for withdrawing US forces from Afghanistan. Determining the departure time will cause further discussion between the two parties. Although talks have been held in this regard, a final agreement has not yet been made.”

A spokesman for the Taliban political office in Qatar once again says that the leadership of the group does not want to talk with the delegation of the Afghan government. Mr Shahin says, “We have started Intra-Afghan talks along with the Americans in order to reach a conclusion. We do not recognize any government at the moment in Afghanistan, and I reaffirm that the next issues in these talks will be discussed on after the withdrawal of the US and foreign forces from Afghanistan.”

In the fifth round of talks between the Taliban and the American delegation which was held for 16 days, the two sides agreed on the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan and the unplanned use of the geography of Afghanistan against a third country, in particular, the United States. It is not yet clear that the new round of talks between the Taliban and the United States will begin on which date, but soon they will begin the 6th round of talks in Qatar.
