A Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, has denied being present at the Peace Consultative Jirga in Kabul.

Mr. Mujahid also called the Afghan government illegitimate and said that the political leaders in Kabul held meetings and decided on the future of Afghanistan.

Mr. Mujahid added: “The fake meeting that this time the Kabul government wants to hold under the name of the advisory loya Jirga will be the same as those jirgas and decisions that were held in the years to come of the communist regime, or in 2013, to continue the occupation of the United States. Afghanistan’s sales document to the United States was approved under the title “Security Treaty”.

This is while the Peace Consultative Loya Jirga will be held next month in Kabul.
