The fifth round of talks between the US and the Taliban began officially in Doha, Qatari capital, on Monday.

Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen said in Qatar that if allies were withdrawn from Afghanistan, all the Taliban fighters would join the Afghan army. He also said that the talks with the Afghan government were an internal debate and that now, on the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan, their talks we will continue with the United States.

Mr. Shahin stressed that when the occupation ends and all foreign troops leave Afghanistan and establishes an inclusive government in the country, then I think there is no need for war. A lasting peace will come in the country and all our troops and people will join a national army.

Meanwhile, in the course of talks over the past few days, Mullah Abdul Ghani, the deputy of the political group of the with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdul Rahman al-Thani, Qatar’s National Security Advisor Mohammad al-Masand, and Zalmay Khalilzad, US Special Envoy for Afghan Peace and Commander Scott Miller, Strong supporters have met in Afghanistan.
