The Russian envoy to Afghanistan, Amir Kabulov, told the Russian media after a meeting with US and Chinese officials that the Taliban’s return to power is far from the imagination. Mr. Kabulov has emphasized that the people of Afghanistan have the right to experience democracy and choose their own destinies. “The Taliban are not returning to power, and the monopoly of political power by Taliban in Afghanistan is far from the imagination,” Zamir Kabulov said. “Without any doubt, the Afghan crisis will not be resolved soon, but it is clear that people are tired after 40 years of conflict and violence and now they want peace.”

Kabulov believes that the Taliban will never return to power. But the group has repeatedly stated that they will not be part of the government, but will take full control of the government. Prior to this, Mullah Baradar, the head of the Taliban’s political office in Qatar, had stated that the group had great victories both in the battlefield and in politics.
